1. What is IELTS?
– IELTS abbreviation for International English Language Testing Systemroughly translated as International English Language Testing System with 4 skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. IELTS is the world’s most important and daily English language proficiency test for study, work and immigration purposes with more than two million test takers.

4. IELTS test method
The exam is divided into 2 parts:
Part (a) – Writing exam, covering skills: Listening, Reading and Writing
Part (b) – Speaking test, covering skills: Speak
Notes on exam:
- The Writing test (Listening, Reading, Writing) is conducted on the morning of the official and extended test day about 3 hours.
- The Speaking test lasts only 15 minutes and each candidate will be assigned a separate test time. The Speaking test is scheduled on the same day as the Writing test or within a 5-day period before and after the Writing test date.
- Because the two locations for the Speaking and Writing tests are different, candidates will be informed of the exact locations of each section of the test.

5. Regulations on cancellation and change of exam date
Exam Cancellation:
- Cancellation of the exam must be made in writing according to the form and submitted at the IDP Vietnam office 5 weeks before the registered test date.
- 75% of exam fee will be refunded in case of valid cancellation.
- Candidates will receive the refund after 7-10 working days from the date of application along with the invoice of total value added (original).
Note:
Candidates will ARE NOT Refund of exam fees when ARE NOT provide the original Total Value Added Invoice.
Candidates who REGISTER for the IELTS test no more than 05 weeks before the test date will ARE NOT exam is cancelled.
Cancellation of the exam no more than 05 weeks before the test date is only considered in case of serious illness (surgery, accident, long-term hospitalization, …). Candidates need to provide a certificate of body condition with a circular stamp of a public hospital not later than 05 days from the date of the test, stating that their body condition cannot come to the exam in order to change the test date or get 75% back. exam fees.
Change exam date:
- Candidates must apply to change the test date according to the form at the IDP Vietnam office before the registered test date 15 days (free) or 8-14 days (test date change fee is VND 450,000).
- Candidates can only change the test date only once and the new test date is within 3 months from the old test date.
- Candidates have change date the exam won’t work cancel exam.
- Candidates who register for the test no more than 1 week before the test date will NOT be able to change the test date.
6. Exam results
Test results will be returned directly to candidates after the written test date, 13 days for paper-based IELTS and 3-5 days for computer-based IELTS at IDP TP office. Ho Chi Minh City (District 1) or IDP Hanoi, IDP Da Nang.
- When coming to receive the test results, candidates please bring the original ID card or Passport as registered on the application form.
- Candidates from outside the province can register to send their results home free of charge to the address listed on the exam registration form.
- Candidates can only receive one IELTS certificate and it will not be reissued under any circumstances.
- Candidates who cannot go directly to the IDP office to get their test results authorize a family member to receive the results by completing the Authorization Form and returning it to the test center before the results are available. The authorized person must present the candidate’s ID card or passport and the authorized person’s own when coming to receive the test results.
Contestant’s ability to see online exam results 13 days after the Writing test on IDP’s homepage (from 5pm, Vietnam time) by entering the candidate’s personal information as required.
Test results are not announced by phone, fax or email unless the candidate agrees.
Submit exam results
not too 1 month From the date the official test results are printed, candidates are required to send them to the test center up to 05 IELTS certificates to domestic and foreign training institutions where candidates are registered to study or organizations and companies where candidates are applying for jobs or to embassies of countries where candidates are applying for visas.
For candidates who are required to submit transcripts to domestic companies, IDP is able to require candidates to provide some additional supporting documents for the submission of transcripts. During this time, candidates do not have to pay additional printing fees. After this time, the Center will collect an additional 5 USD (as well as 200,000 VND) for each additional printed certificate.
IDP will send exam certificates free of charge to addresses in the country by registered mail. In other cases, candidates will have to pay the postage or courier charges themselves.
IDP reserves the right to refuse to issue and send exam certificates to candidates themselves, study abroad counseling centers, law offices, settlement offices, relatives, friends of candidates and to unrelated addresses. .
7. Review the results
Candidates may be required to re-review the results of all or 1 of the 4 skills by filling in the Application for Review (at the Test Centers).
Mandatory time of review no more than 6 weeks from the date of the Writing test. Time to receive the re-examination results is 4-6 weeks from the date the Center receives the required re-examination with the candidate’s signature. Fee for appeal is 2,310,000 VND. This fee will be refunded to the candidate when the new result changes immediately from the old one.
Other cases
IDP will take the steps necessary to maintain the delivery of services. otherwise, our company will not be responsible when the exam is affected due to force majeure, beyond the control of IDP such as: fire, flood, war, road closure, power failure during quite a long time… In cases where the exam has to be canceled due to the above reasons, IDP will arrange to transfer candidates to the exam closest to their ability.
